PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Instructional Technologist, University of Michigan
Ann Arbor, MI from July 2011 – present
Instructional designer, instructor, and media consultant for the U-M Library’s ScholarSpace lab.

  • Design and instruct open, technology-focused workshops to university students, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and instruct course-integrated workshops in collaboration with U-M faculty.
  • Create accessible and engaging learning objects and online course modules for the library.
  • Provide one-on-one consultations in a media lab to students, faculty and staff.
  • Train student staff who work in library media labs.
  • Test and explore new software and help make recommendations for library media labs.
  • Work with large format printers, high speed scanners, cameras, and various AV and computer equipment.
  • Provide in-house multimedia support to the library, including graphic design, video, and photography.

Committees:

  • Library Diversity Council, 2015-present – Member of the council. Maintain an environment that is conducive to diversity within the library. Chair of the Learning Curriculum subcommittee.
  • Shapiro Lobby Team, 2011-present – Manage and create unique content for the library’s digital signage in the Hatcher and Shapiro libraries using FourWinds Content Manager.
  • Library Video Group, 2013-present – Help oversee YouTube and other video managements systems. Create ADA compliant closed captioning for videos.
  • Digital Learning Objects Group (chair), 2013-2014  – Lead a working group of librarians and staff to identify and create e-learning materials, particularly screencasts.
